2027 is shaping up to be a landmark year for This Window. If everything continues on schedule, TW will unveil a major new release across all streaming platforms — the most ambitious digital launch to date. This upcoming release marks a significant step forward, bringing decades of underground experimentation into a fully modern distribution landscape and opening the door to a wider global audience.

This Window has a long history of releasing music across Europe and the USA, with formats ranging from vinyl and cassette to CD and modern streaming platforms. The catalogue includes material recorded for Microsoft, Beggars Banquet and other labels.

This Window is a hybrid space where sound, poetry, art-thinking, experimental method, and deliberate absurdity coexist. The poetic side provides intuition, metaphor, and atmosphere; the artistic side shapes form, perspective, and texture; the scientific impulse contributes structure, models, and constraints — even when the subject matter is surreal; and absurdity keeps the whole thing honest by disrupting assumptions and forcing new angles of thought.


The current members include — Star (vocals, keyboards, production) and Marni De Much (percussion) — continue to operate from Morgue Studio in North Devon, shaping their distinctive blend of electronic, dance, rock and gothic elements.

Emerging from the 1980s Cassette Culture and DIY movement, This Window released a multitude of solo albums and remains connected to that independent spirit.

The death of romance "Dance this Way" is a short, searing piece of emotional reportage. In just a handful of lines, it captures the humiliation of being treated as an accessory rather than a partner. The narrator’s repeated “I hate you, I really hate you” is not melodrama but the blunt edge of betrayal — the kind that happens not in grand betrayals, but in the small, public moments where someone you love makes you feel invisible. The scene is painfully familiar: a couple arrives together at a favourite bar to see a favourite band — a shared ritual.
